# Virus Scanning

Computer virus scanning is a fundamental component of modern cybersecurity and plays a crucial role in protecting your data, computer systems and networks from malicious software.

To combat this threat, virus scanning is employed as a proactive defense mechanism by SureDrop to identify, isolate, and remove viruses so as to ensure the integrity of your data while being stored or transferred.

To configure *Virus Scanning*, open the **Admin** functions and click on the *Virus Scanning* link to display the window illustrated below:
